POSITION: Video Communications Specialist (North Metro)

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Coordinates and produces video content college wide with a focus on the promotion of programs, services, and department resources; including planning and scheduling video assignments, creating high-level audio and video productions using digital audio and video equipment for various online and digital content, and meeting multiple deadlines. This position is responsible for planning, filming, and editing videos to be used to communicate to internal and external audience’s ideas, programs and resources across college departments.

MAJOR DUTIES:

CONTENT CREATION:

· Creates, designs, and develops multimedia content using photography and video recordings for various college uses both internal and external.

· Writes content outlines and scripts, including storyboarding when appropriate

· Shoots and edits videos, utilizing professional video and audio technology

· Produces video, live action and animated. Supervises pre-production, production, and post-production

· Adheres to specifications, due dates, and timelines for all projects

COMPLIANCE:

· Ensures compliance with the college Style and Branding Guidelines.

· Ensures compliance with college, state, and federal codes, guidelines, and policies, including accreditation standards, copyright and intellectual property rights, and Americans with Disabilities Act Section 508 compliance.

· Keeps accurate, detailed notes to identify subjects in videos, photographs and ensures every video or image file has proper photography/videography release forms signed

COLLABORATION:

· Works with the External Affairs Team to develop creative works for commercials, college event highlights, recruitment, community communication, and other marketing efforts.

· Works with faculty to develop video content for the promotion of their programs, employer interviews, students’ testimonials, etc.

· Participates in concepting, storyboarding of content ideas with an eye and POV on what types of video work best for subject matter, distribution platform, and our customer profile

OTHER DUTIES:

· Remains current on emerging trends and technologies related to multimedia design

· Recommends new video support systems and hardware and software technologies based on analysis of college needs

· Orders and maintains equipment and supplies as needed

· Still-frame photography as needed

· Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

· Bachelor’s Degree in closely related field or Associate’s degree and 1-year related experience

· Strong proficiency in shooting high-quality, cinematic video/b-roll preferred

· Strong photo/video editing skills

· Ability to communicate effectively

· Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver’s license issued by the State of Georgia for the type of vehicle or equipment operated

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

· 2-5 years professional videography/photography experience

· 2-5 years of videography/photography experience in the field of higher education

· Visual design skills (Adobe Creative Suite, etc.)

· Audio/video skills in hardware (cameras, microphones, lighting, etc.) and software (Final Cut Pro, Premiere, etc.)

SALARY/BENEFITS: $43,559.22 annually. Benefits include paid holidays, annual leave, and the State of Georgia Flexible Benefits Program. Please be aware that Chattahoochee Tech employees will be paid by direct deposit, unless exempted by the State Accounting Office based on “hardship” evidence provided by the employee.

TELEWORK: Position is authorized to telework up to 40% of the time with supervisor approval.
